I have been playing Basketball for the Leicester and District team since I was 16 years old. In September 1998, I got signed up by my basketball coach Roger Sharpe. I have won loads of medals up to now, one Gold medal in Cardiff in July 2001 and a silver medal in Glasgow in July 2005.
I am Vice Captain for The East Midlands Team. 2005 was a brilliant year for me. I was playing in the finals at Glasgow and I got named Man of the Match against Scotland West B Team and my coach said to me: "if you score two big three pointers I will put your name forward for the Great Britain Team for Shanghai 2007".
I scored two massive three pointers. It was a day I will never forget. I got called up to the trials at Stoke on Trent and I met Graham Lapper, West Midlands coach, and former manager Steve Webb. Graham said to me: "You did brilliant mate".
I had a letter in July 2006 to say I was picked to represent Great Britain at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, in October 2007. I was in shock when I had the good news. My team won a silver medal in China!
In my spare time I have a season ticket to watch Leicester Tigers play at Welford Road. My sporting heroes are Karl Brown and Delme Herriman and my favorite celebrity is Eamon Holmes. Finally, I had the opportunity to be on Central News for the East Midlands, on Friday July 13th in Leicester, when the city won the 2009 Special Olympics Summer Games
