The organisers of the National Summer Games last week announced broadcaster ITV as an official partner.
The partnership represents the first time the National Summer Games will benefit from national exposure, receiving coverage prior to and during the competition on ITV1 through the ITV Regional News Network.
Ted Cassidy MBE, Games Chairman, said: “This is a ground breaking agreement for Special Olympics GB National Summer Games Leicester 2009. We are delighted that such a major broadcasting corporation, ITV, has stepped forward to lead the way to highlight the Special Olympics movement and it is a fantastic opportunity for the nation to gain an appreciation of the sporting talents of people with learning disabilities."
Although not exclusive, the partnership represents the first time the National Summer Games will benefit from national exposure, receiving coverage prior to and during the competition on IVY through the ITV Regional News Network.
