Special Olympics Leicester 2009 (SOL) team will be hosting the penultimate community roadshow at Babington Community College on Wednesday, 26th November from 6.00 to 7.00 pm and 7.00 to 8.00 pm.

 

The SOL roadshows provide the latest information to local communities about the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games and how to get involved in the Games next year from signing up as volunteer, hosting a SOL event and becoming a SOL supporter for the Games which take place from the 25th to 31st July in Leicester next year.

 

Members from the Special Olympics Games Organising Committee will be present at the roadshow where they will talk to the Beaumont Leys community about the background to Special Olympics and an overview of the events and activities taking place during the Games week. Also attending will be World Snooker Number 4, Mark Selby to talk to the audience about why he is supporting the Games. Roadshow attendees will also be given the opportunity to ask questions about the Games and understand more about the role of a Special Olympics volunteer. Activities will give local people the opportunity to understand the role they can play in supporting the athletes, their families and putting on a fantastic event.
