More activities have been lined up for a city estate's summer fun day this weekend. The event in Eyres Monsell on Saturday will include the inaugural Monsell Mile family fun run. There will also be tag rugby sessions organised by Leicester Tigers, a climbing wall, children's athletics competitions and a tug-o-war.

 

There will also be information stands from the Council's recycling team, Police, Fire Service, Special Olympics Leicester 2009 and Voluntary Action Leicester.

 

Councillor Rory Palmer said: ' the event has a fun packed programme for all the family. There really is something for everyone. I hope local families will come along and have a go at all the activities and get involved. Events like this make stronger communities and bring people together. We are keeping fingers crossed for good weather'.

 

The event takes place at Eyres Monsell Recreation Ground and Community Centre in Hillsborough Road, between 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm on Saturday, 21st June 2008.

 

The event has been organised by Councillors Rory Palmer and Kim Blower, residents and the neighbourhood housing office.
